We Offer Telepsychology/Telecounselling Services via OnCall Health

What is Online Therapy?

In general, online therapy includes Videoconferencing, as well as connecting with your therapist via email or phone. At Mindful Matters, we take privacy, confidentiality, and security very seriously.  We use PIPED and PHIPA compliant software to ensure data integrity and privacy. No downloads necessary, your therapist will send you a link to join the session.

Who do we provide online therapy for?

We provide services to Newfoundland Labrador residents who are currently in the province or travelling.

We offer individual, couples and family sessions to all ages.  We can also assess for child and adult ADHD and behavioral disorders using online assessment tools.

How do I prepare for a session?

  • If this is your first appointment, your therapist will send you consent forms to download, fill in, and email prior to the first appointment. This will be reviewed with you in the first session.

  • The easiest way to pay for the session is to send your therapist an e-transfer prior to the session. Some of our therapists also accept credit cards. Your therapist will issue a receipt and email it to you for insurance purposes.

  • Your therapist will send you the link that will automatically open in your browser. No software download required.

  • Make sure you have a quiet space where you will not be disturbed for the duration of the 45-60 minute-long session.

  • It is better to use a desktop or a laptop if possible (as opposed to tablets and mobile devices).

  • Close all other windows on your computer so that it does not use up your broadband and interfere with the internet speed.

  • Restart your computer before the call. This will help to close any software that may be running at the background and interfering with the quality of call.

  • Please check the internet connection as well as the video and audio settings before the session.
